I Am A Wolf

Two days ago, I confirmed that I'm a Great Plains wolf!
I started questioning on August 1st! I knew that my theriotype was some sort of canine, but I was only able to narrow it down to a specific species by going through a list of canids.
With most species, there was usually something that didn't feel right. Either it was their appearance (wrong coat color, or too small), their diet (primarily preying on small mammals, heavily relying on fruit), or their environment.
When I confirmed my first theriotype 5 years ago, I knew that my fur color, as a winged wolf, should be white. Even though I eventually deconfirmed it, that noema (inherent knowledge about my possible theriotype) stayed mostly consistent.
Therefore, if the species in question couldn't have a white coat, I ruled it out of my questioning.
As for diet, I experience the urge to hunt something medium-sized & cravings for red meat during my mental shifts. Since I haven't been journaling too consistently for the past few years, I don't have an exact idea of when these mental shifts started, but they are consistent enough for me to include while questioning! As I did my research, I concluded that hunting ungulates felt the most right to me. Therefore, canids that primarily prey on small mammals were ruled out of my questioning.
Onto the environment... This is also inherent knowledge I had about my theriotype. Forests feel the most like home to me. And so, if a species' range didn't include forests, I ruled them out.
One of the species that fit all of these points were grey wolves. Even though having a general species in mind was enough, habitat, fur color, and diet varies from subspecies to subspecies. So, I narrowed things down further to 2 subspecies:
At this time, I wasn't aware of Great Plains wolves yet. During my research, I was unable to figure out if an eastern wolf could have a lighter coat or not. I knew for sure that Northwestern wolves could have light coats, but something about both of these subspecies didn't feel right, didn't feel like me.
Then, on August 15th, I discovered the Great Plains wolf! When I read "They were described as a large, light-colored wolf but with black and white varying between individual wolves, with some all white or all black" from the Wikipedia page about them, that immediately felt right! Not only appearance was right, but diet and environment too! Finally, I was finally able to put a name to the collection of experiences I had.
And on the 28th, I finally confirmed that I am a Great Plains wolf! I wanted to wait until the 31st so that it would officially be an entire month since I started questioning, but I think I've waited things out long enough?
Now, I just need to figure out if I'm still a winged wolf, a regular wolf, or somehow both? I felt my phantom wings for the first time in a while a week ago, so I'm thinking about it again. I haven't made much progress on figuring that out though, so I have no updates on that to write about ;;
Anyways, thank you all for reading!
